You can do very well stockpiling at Kroger by strategically using coupons. Kroger varies by Region in regards to their coupon policy. We post a weekly Kroger Matchup with all of the deals every Saturday at 9:00 am EST for the following week’s ad. Our ad runs Monday – Sunday. This is an early preview for many regions.
Kroger Plus Card – If you don’t have a Kroger Plus card, get one immediately. You can get one at any Kroger service desk and begin using it immediately. Be sure to register your Kroger Plus card online with your current mailing address. Kroger mails coupons every quarter based on your spending and they mail bi-monthly booklets that contain coupons. If they don’t have your correct mailing address you won’t receive these in the mail. Always hand the cashier your Kroger Plus card first before any item is scanned to be sure you get the correct prices and credit toward sale pricing (when applicable) and plus card pricing.
Doubling – The NKY/Cincinnati Division Kroger doubles UNLIMITED manufacturer coupons (pending manager’s discretion) up to $.50. Coupons $.51-.99 will increase to a maximum of $1.00. Be sure to check your stores policy on doubling. The only coupons that would be doubled that say “do not double” are the blinking ones on the shelf. Any other coupons brought into the store that state “Do Not Double” will not be doubled. Store Coupons and Digital Coupons do not double. This may vary based on manager’s discretion.
Catalina’s – You can earn Catalina’s at Kroger. Catalina’s are based on a purchase you make. Sometimes if you purchase a brand you will get a $ off another brand coupon or CAT. However if you have a qualifying purchase say where you purchase x of a particular brand in the same order you will earn a $ off your next order. These are called OYNO (On Your Next Order) Catalina’s. Read more about using Catalina’s.
Overage – Sometimes you can earn “overage” at Kroger. Overage is when you purchase and item for $.80 and use a coupon for $1.00. You will get the $.20 back towards another item in your order. You will not get cash back…so what you want to do is purchase another item so that the “overage” applies toward that item. You can read more about Overage.
Rain Checks – Kroger offer’s rain checks that can be redeemed for up to 30 days of issue. When redeeming a rain check at Kroger hand it to the clerk first before your items are scanned. The cashier has to manually adjust the price down. Read more about Rainchecks.
Digital Coupons – You can load digital coupons to your Kroger Plus card. Digital Coupons will not be doubled. You can access digital coupons for Kroger to load directly to your Kroger Plus card and learn more about digital coupons. Some locations allow you to stack a Digital Coupon and Paper Coupon however that varies based on store.
Stacking Coupons – Kroger officially no longer allows stacking. In the past you could stack coupons at Kroger. This seems to be a YMMV (your mileage may vary). Some stores still allow for stacking while others don’t. Stacking is using two coupons on the same item. I don’t find that I get any store coupons that match up with a manufacturer coupons anymore so it doesn’t really seem to apply. However, some stores allow you to stack a Digital Coupon with a paper coupon. For example cellfire and shortcuts coupons with a paper coupon. Again YMMV on this. This varies by Manager’s Discretion.
Kroger Fuel Rewards Program – Save up to $1.00 per gallon on fuel with Kroger’s fuel rewards program. Now your points add up. Earn 100 points for every $100 in groceries, for every $50.00 in gift card purchases and for every 2 eligible prescriptions filled. Every 100 points earns 10 cents off per gallon. Redeem up to 1.000 points in one fill up for up to $1.00 off per gallon.
Regions – Pricing and sales ad vary by region. You can view the Kroger Family of Stores Regions to see which region your stores falls in.
Corporate – You can contact Kroger Corporate with any questions at 800-576-4377.
Store Manager – The store manager has the right to accept, decline or limit the quantity of coupons or items used or purchased in a single transaction, by a single customer, or in a single day.
Pharmacy Coupons – Competitor pharmacy coupons are not accepted. Also Competitor Coupons may not be used in conjunction with our $4 Generic Program.
General Coupon Policy – Limit one (1) manufacturer coupon per item. Items must be purchased in sizes specified on the coupon. Amount refunded cannot exceed the price of the item. Expired manufacturer coupons are not accepted.
PRINT-AT-HOME (PAH) COUPONS – They only accept printable coupons if they scan properly at checkout. They do not accept coupons for more than about 75% of a product’s value without advance notice. Legitimate PAH coupons will not be for a high value relative to the cost of the item. For example, a $2.00 off coupon will be acceptable for a product that normally sells for $5.00 or more, but a $2.00 off printable coupon for a product that sells for $2.25 is unlikely to be legitimate. Kroger does not accept internet printable coupons for free products.
Coupons will be rejected if they appear out of proportion or blurry, or are obvious duplicates. Legitimate PAH coupons are never copied, sold, or traded. Nearly all coupons are “non-transferable,” meaning they should not be photocopied or scanned and distributed to others. Coupons will be rejected if they appear to have been altered in any way. PAH coupons can be checked for validity at: http://www.printcoupons.com.
Mega Sale -Kroger often has Mega Sales. This means that when you purchase a certain number of participating products that you get a discount off at checkout.
