I was sent 6 different types of BetterOats Oatmeal to review. I have to say I was VERY impressed! I sat down with my next door neighbor Jessie and we set up the samples. We were delighted when we opened the bag of apple cinnamon and it smelled wonderful! We opened the pack of competitors oatmeal and it hardly smelled at all. We never noticed that before we compared the two together. The competitors oatmeal is my regular oatmeal. When we compared the apples in both brands, the apples in the BetterOats were really big! The flakes were whole flakes not crumbles of flakes! I was shocked because I have NEVER really looked at Oatmeal that closely before.
One of my favorite things about this oatmeal is you can use the pack as the measuring device for your water! I thought that is crazy and will never work but it did! Insane! It perfectly measured the water for you. I even measured the water in another measuring glass just to make sure. LOL!
When we put it in the microwave it smelled awesome! It really filled up the kitchen with a soothing aroma. The kids even asked what we were making! We microwaved both oatmeal and the BetterOats looked much better. They were more fluffy and not so mashed looking.
When we went to try the oatmeal, BetterOats won hands down! There is not a choice at all between the competitor and BetterOats. The competitor did not taste good at all after we tasted the BetterOats. It tasted plain and really did not have much of a flavor at all. After we tried the BetterOats, we just started talking about other things. Next thing you know, we look over and my two year old was eating the bowl of BetterOats. He finished the whole thing!
The other flavors I tried were: Lavish Dark Chocolate was incredible! Makes me want to eat oatmeal every morning and I am not a huge oatmeal fan. Amazing! Blueberry Muffin was very good! I think this may be my two year old’s favorite! All of the flavors seem to be very fluffy and tasty! Their packaging is perfect for pantry. It is a tall slim box instead of a huge bulky box! I LOVE IT!!

Where do you find Better Oats in the store? I’ve never seen them. Are they in the natural foods section or the regular cereal aisle?
I just bought these the other day at my local Kroger. They were on the cereal aisle next to the other oatmeal. They only had three flavors: apple, peach, and maple brown sugar. The Peaches and Cream are my fav and really are great. Plus, for a 5 pack box it was only $1.25. I am not sure if this was an introductory price but I am hooked either way. My only compliant is you can not use boiling water to cook.
