There are many reasons a Farmer’s Market is more beneficial for the environment and economy! Farmer’s Markets strengthen communities and local economies. This helps your own money circulate within your own community!
It is very good for the environment because you have less miles on your food. Since your food is not traveling as far it is not adding to pollution, does not require packaging, and is less intensively grown. The process of canning and packaging takes a lot more energy than picking fruit!
I have met a lot of really nice people at Farmer’s Markets. They are more likely to give you a better price on their products. It is easier for them to since they are cutting out the middle man! It is nice to know where your fruits and vegetables are coming from!
Hope everyone has a great week!!
