Saving energy is something we try really hard to do in our house. It is very complicated with kiddos! We are just now on the winning side of both boys shutting the door when they go outside! YAAA!
There are things you can do that will help the saving become easier.
- Keep your fridge too cold? If you do, you are wasting energy! It is fine to keep your frig temperature between 37 and 40 degrees and your freezer at 5 degrees.
- Saving Water is something we are on top of also. We told the boys if they leave the water on it can overflow and it would ruin their toys. That means we have to throw them away. This stopped the water being on automatically. If you have an old toilet you could replace it with a more energy efficient one and save thousands of gallons of water a year.
- You can reduce waste by recycling bottles. More than 80% of recyclable bottles end up in landfills. Reduce bottle waste and fill with tap water.
