We recently received a bottle of NutraSea Kids and NutraSea +D to review. I was excited to introduce NutraSea Kids to my son. As you know he is a picky eater and being able to get a serving of Omega-3 with EPA, DHA, GLA and vitamin D is a great opportunity.
Increasing research has shown that essential fatty acids (EFAs) play an important role in our children’s development. However getting kids to eat fish (at least mine) 2-3 times a week is a HUGE challenge. While fish oil supplements offer an effective alternative, the accompanying fishy taste and questions of purity often prevent kids from taking them on a regular basis. With Ascenta’s new NutraSea Kids supplement, we can provide our kids EFAs with a great Very Berry taste and Pure Check quality assurance. What I like about this product is that there is no worry about swallowing a soft gel or capsule! The NutraSea Kids’ liquid format makes it not only easy to take on its own, but also to add into smoothies, milkshakes, yogurt and other food favorites.
Just one daily teaspoon (5ml) of NutraSea Kids provides children omega-3 and vitamin D for their development. Every NutraSea product undergoes rigorous testing to ensure purity and quality, so we can feel good about adding it to our children’s diet. Recommended for children aged 2-13, the Pure Check logo featured on all NutraSea products guarantees that they have been independently tested and certified for quality, purity and potency — a level of quality that sets Ascenta apart from its from competitors. For more information about the quality guarantee of Ascenta products and the benefits of essential fatty acids, visit NutraSea Kids.
I tried giving my son NutraSea Kids directly from a medicine cup and that was not successful. However, I was able to slip it into his milkshake with no problem. If you serve smoothies or yogurt I think this would work well in those too! It has a very fruity flavor and does not taste like fish at all.
Please remember that NutraSea is recommended for children two to thirteen years old and if any of your children have fish allergies you should consult your doctor before using NutraSea.
I wrote this review while participating in a blog campaign by Mom Central on behalf of NutraSea Kids campaign and received a NutraSea sample to facilitate my candid review.
