If you are using twitter you will enjoy this read and if you are not what are you waiting for? Be sure to follow Stockpiling Moms on twitter so you never miss out on one one of our deals!
Everyone loves a good deal. And with the advent of Twitter, spreading the word about those good deals becomes as simple as fitting it into a 140 characters. However Twitter is massive, and while someone might just be selling that uber cool iPad for a sweet price, you’ll never know it unless you learn how to keep filter out all of the noise and keep abreast of those bargain Tweets.
Fortunately you’ve got it pretty easy. There are several tools that help weed the wheat from the chaff, all you need to do is pick the right one for the job. That said, here are a handful of the most useful Twitter bargain hunting tools out there.
TweepBeep
Probably one of the most simplistic of tools, think of TweetBeep as a bit like Google Alerts. Once you register on the site you can set up email alerts related to keywords and search terms of your choice. Be sure to set the frequency of alerts you wish to receive.

Some of the key things you can create alerts for are:
- Hashtags
- Twitter user names
- Keywords (you can also exclude keywords as well)
Deals via Twitter Users
Often you’ll find coupon aggregators hopping on the Twitter bandwagon and Tweeting their deals as another way for subscribers get the word. Of course following all of them isn’t necessary, it boils down to personal choice. As an example, below are a few I like to follow.
| Twitter account | Update source | Advantages |
| @amazon | Amazon | Official Amazon Deals |
| @couponsherpa | Coupon Sherpa |
Freebies and Deals Rated by Users |
| @dealnews | Deal News | Deals and Coupons, Tech |

Aggregated Deals via Twitter Tools
There are several web apps you can mine to find sweet promo codes as well.
- Topic tagged Tweets
- Bury Tweets
- Vote Tweets up
- Share Tweets via Twitter and Facebook

- Vote deals up with the “It’s Cheap” button
- Sort “Official” Tweets from the rest by the
“Official” label
Why care if they’re official? Long story short is that you know the deals on offer are being run directly by reputable merchants rather than at times questionable third parties. So look for the “Official Account Badge” to make sure you don’t get suckered.
- Fun interface
- Check out popular Tweets
- Filter by past hour, 12 hour, or the day, week, or month
- Vote deals down (always specify a reason though, like
duplicate, expired, etc…) - Tweets organized by category and by merchant name
There you have it. A handful of tricks and tips to finding the best
(or worst!) deals in the Twittersphere. Use them at your own risk!
