Our families FAVORITE snack food during the holidays is homemade Chex Mix. This is not the recipe on the box but the one that Mom has perfected throughout the years. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do. No Christmas is complete without it!
Feel free to double this recipe when you make it because it is that good! We make several double batches throughout the season for our family to enjoy. For this recipe you will use Rice Chex, Wheat Chex, Cheerios, Pretzels, Mixed Nuts, Cashews, unsalted butter, celery salt, onion salt, garlic salt and Worcestershire Sauce. Feel free to adjust the spices to your liking however after years and years of making this for our family my Mom has it perfected.
Bake in a roasting pan at 250 degrees for 1 hour. Stir every 15 minutes. Let cool and store in an airtight container. Trust me this recipe is so delicious you will love to snack on it. It can be made gluten free by eliminating the Wheat Chex and substituting Gluten Free Pretzels. We like it almost as much 😉 It can also be made with this Slow Cooker Chex Mix Recipe.
My Mom makes this for Christmas every year and we eat it through New Years. After that it is time to put the recipe away until the next year. We all love it so much and eat WAY too much of this yummy snack that we can’t afford to pull the recipe out except once a year. Well, our waistline can’t afford it, that is. We hope you enjoy my Moms homemade Chex Mix recipe as much as we do. It is sure to become a family favorite once you give this recipe a try! It is perfect for game day, any holiday or really any day of the week.
