How can it be that I only spent $3.45 this week? We ate every day???
This week I only made one trip to Walmart and that was to pick up a couple of 75% off items. If you are new here you are wondering how did we eat and for those of you who stockpile, you understand!
We had plenty of Organic Milk in our freezer, Organic Eggs in our refrigerator, loaves of bread in our freezer and this week we simply ate from our stockpile. When there is not a lot going on at the store, I simply don’t go! It is so nice to take “weeks” off at a time. Last week I picked up fresh apples, oranges, organic veggies and we used those up this week. Now things are starting to get bare on the fresh fruit/veggie front so I know I will be making a run soon for those but otherwise I am set with milk, eggs, bread and meat!
I am looking forward to picking up some frozen items though at Kroger as they are having a Frozen Mega Event and I noticed a few nice freebies at Meijer too! I will be picking up reach toothbrushes and vitamins for free at Walgreen’s and stopping in CVS for free electrosol
I enjoyed the week “off” this week but look forward to a few deals next.
Here is my Walmart breakdown:
9 packages of tissue – $.25 each = $2.25
4 packages of cups – $.25 each = $1.00
Tax – $.20
Total Expense = $3.45

Do you freeze any milk or just organic, I know it sounds like a silly question but I have often wondered if milk frozen tastes the same. Thanks!
I freeze organic and regular milk. Just be sure to shake it up really well. I always freeze organic because that is all we use
I but it on clearance and freeze.
Here is a how to freeze milk and eggs post you might like.

Thanks so much! This is just the info I needed!! I have never seen the organic milk on clearance….any place clearance it more than others? We have Walmart, Target, Publix and WinnDixie down here.
I buy mine at Meijer and Kroger. I know that you can get great deals on foods clearanced at Target. Check anywhere that carries organic because once it gets close to the date it gets reduced.
When I buy half gallons of organic milk, it comes in the waxy paper carton (I hope that’s a good description.) It says on the label “Do Not Freeze”. Do you freeze in this type of container or do you freeze only in the regular plastic milk jugs? I see these clearanced at our Kroger family store but I pass them up if we don’t need milk, but I’d love to have some in the freezer!
Where do you find coupons for fruits & vegetables? We go through a lot of fruits & veggies so getting my bill down so low seems impossible for me.
Help!
My total was a little higher, but I took the week mostly off too. It feels good now and then!
In live in North Florida. We do not have a Kroger or Meijier here. In act I’ve never even heard of those stores. We do have a new Walgreens and CVS though. Do you know what the next best store is for grocery shopping? Where I live we have a foodway, Walmart, Winn Dixie, Publix, and Save A Lot. I am new to this couponing thing but with 4 children and 2 step children I will do almost anything to save a penny! I am willing to travel to another city to purchase things if I can make the trip worth it! Any advice is greatly appreciated!
You can do really well at Publix. I suggest IHeartPublix.com for matchups.
We have a summary of how to coupon at the stores that you may want to check out too.

Way to go! I am doing the Clean Out the Cupboards Challenge this month, so I mainly ate from my (rapidly reducing) stockpile. I did buy $30 in dairy and produce, though.
Thanks for coming by and linking up!
