Can you freeze potato chips?

can you freeze potato chips

Can you freeze potato chips? Absolutely! It is simple to do. Just place them in the freezer in the original sealed package.  They are good for 3 months. Simply remove from the freezer and place on the counter to “thaw”.  They will remain crisp and fresh after frozen.

This is a great way to extend the life of the product beyond the expiration date.  I normally purchase when on sale matched with a coupon and now I can freeze them to save even more!

Thank you so much for this tip!!! I LOVE potato chips, but only buy them when they are on sale. I don’t want to buy more than we can eat before the expiration date though, so this is a fantastic solution!

This is a great tip when you find them at rock bottom for stockpiling :-) I bought 22 bags and did not eat them all before they expired (thank goodness).

we freeze everything in the chip isle (tortilla chips, potato chips, cheese curls). we seem to like the brands or items that rarely go on sale, so we stock-up when they do go on-sale. But, be aware, other shoppers stare at you when you have 12 bags of cheese curls in your shopping basket-just saying.
