Can you freeze potato chips?

Can you freeze potato chips? Absolutely! It is simple to do. Just place them in the freezer in the original sealed package.  They are good for 3 months. Simply remove from the freezer and place on the counter to “thaw”.  They will remain crisp and fresh after frozen.

  1. I’ve never tried it because I’m always afraid they’ll come out tasting freeze-dried and “gummy”.

  2. Do it all the time. The only “difference” in taste is that they’re cold! Not soggy, or yucky in ANY way!

  3. Thank you so much for this tip!!! I LOVE potato chips, but only buy them when they are on sale. I don’t want to buy more than we can eat before the expiration date though, so this is a fantastic solution!

  4. Don’t potato chips last for 3 months anyways? I mean even without freezing they’ll still be good for a while.

This is a great tip when you find them at rock bottom for stockpiling :-) I bought 22 bags and did not eat them all before they expired (thank goodness).
