Before you subscribe to Seventeen Magazine for your daughter, go to the store, pick up a copy and browse the pages. It’s not the Seventeen Magazine of yesteryear. I recently subscribed for my daughter. When the first issue arrived in the mail I absentmindedly picked it up and began to flip through the pages. WOWZA! There were articles such as “How to get birth control without your parent’s permission”, “Tech Lingo you can customize so no one will know what you are chatting about”. There were ads for birth control methods with 1 – 800 phone numbers.
Now, that may be fine for some older teens. But not my 14 year old.
I called customer service and requested that my subscription be stopped immediately. I was told I’d get a refund. Well, still waiting for that.
Seventeen Magazine – I am so disappointed in you.
