Frugal Weight Loss Challenge

Shelley and I are very excited to see so many of you interested in joining us on the journey of frugal weight loss and participating in our Frugal Weight Loss Challenge!

I am down 4 lbs (I started last Thursday). Drinking my water and exercising is the key for me! I am also counting calories right now – limiting myself to 1,200 a week. This is a great free resource that I am using.

Would it help if I did a daily facebook check in too?

How did you do???

Tips for this week: 

  • Measure you water out the night before to be consumed the next day.
  • Add sliced cucumbers, lemons or lime to your water to help you drink the entire amount.  Plus a great added detox.
  • Schedule your exercise.
  • Avoid temptations or pack your own snacks when you may be faced with one.

  3. P90x every day this week, extra water, and counting calories. Did I mention I’m nursing too? And a new stay at home mom.

  4. I’m down 3 pounds woohoo!! Going to the gym really makes me think twice before eating extra calories. Someone at work said to keep track of all those BLTs (Bites, Licks, Tastes) throughout the day- they really add up!

    Down 2lbs, Right now I’m doing Jillian Michael’s Get Ripped in 30 (ouch by the way, lol) and going for a bike ride or walk 30 min every day with my kids. I’m eating between 1300-1500 cal.

    Today is only day 3 for me, and so far Im not down anything. (nor am I up anytging either) I will keep trying though.

  7. 30 mins. of Wii Fit today! Yeah! But also some bumps along the way! Will try again tomorrow!

  8. Great tip of adding cucumbers to water. I need to do something with all my cucumbers. Also love the tip on measuring out your water for the next day. This will help me stay on top of that. Doing Jillian Shred 3 days a week and couch to 5K 3 days a week.

  9. I just started this morning. Sorry I came on late…lol I was up at 6:30am and walked around our block w/ little hand weights. I then did some sit-ups when I got home. I drank lots of water today and when I got the urge to snack I had a few almonds.

  10. Jumping on board tonight! (As I reflect how good it is that I saw this AFTER the candy bar and bowl of cereal….) I developed such a sweet tooth this pregnancy! I need to get rid of it!!

  12. I am starting tomorrow. Life is so hectic. I need to get mine back on track. I need lots of help! My hubby and kids don’t encourage me to do good when they are eating all the goodies that I crave. I need to lose 100 pounds so I don’t end up with diabetes like my mom. I am already insulin resistant and I am only 30. I need some recipe ideas that don’t have fish. I can’t stand fish. :) I have already lost 30 pounds this year, but I still have a long ways to go. I need lots of help, especially with the sweet tooth cravings. I can’t have artificial sweeteners. They make me have a headache.

  13. I carry out fully understand such concern. I believe it’s crucial to keep studying and striving to do what we can do the most. Everyone has skills and we want to develop our talents as best as we could.

    I just saw this post this morning through pinterest and figured i’d jump in on it. I won’t be starting til tomorrow though since I have to work all day and won’t be doing my grocery shopping til then. I love the detox water and keeping track of calories. I’ve done it before and saw a difference in a matter of days. My only problem was i just didn’t keep with it =( Hoping to this time around! Goodluck everyone and have a wonderful day!

  16. I have been living a vegetarian lifestyle for the past 5 weeks and have lost about 5 pounds by not eating meat, fatty foods & candy. I have been drinking more water too.

    I am officially down 17 pounds. I started 41 days ago. Mostly 1200 calorie eating and some exercise. LOTS AND LOTS of water!!! Congratulations to everyone! We are on the right track!

  18. I’m just stared today drinking clear gatorade, tea, and water insted to soda or sugar drinks. one meal at 5 o clock like rice, breasr chicken and chicken buillon, and tea at 6 pm
