What are you doing to Eat Better, Live Better, Be Better? In August our family had the honor of hosting coaches from the Challenger Sports British Soccer program in our home. Peyton was a participant in the camp and when they called and asked if we would consider hosting a coach (which later turned into two) I thought what a great experience for Peyton. What I didn’t realize was that it was going to be an amazing and life changing experience for our entire family.
It was such an awesome experience on so many levels. The boys quickly became members of the family and started calling me “Mum #2” as I reminded them of their Moms, which I take as a huge compliment. In addition to preparing healthy meals for the boys I also made it my mission to entertain them. We went to the pool, the mall and of course I took them to a Florence Freedom ballgame. As the week progressed we watched the Olympics together and we learned about their family life and eating habits. This is when I realized that I needed to make some changes.
Around the same time I became a brand ambassador for Way Better Snacks. I shared the chips with the boys and they LOVED them. I shared with them the mission of the brand to Eat Better. Live Better. Be Better and they loved it! They are true spokesmen for the mission of this brand and sharing the mission was a real “aha” moment for me. Over the summer I had fallen off of my “good eating” wagon. I made the decision to make some changes and Eat Better. I decided to limit myself to around 1,200 calories a day and to increase my water intake. I eliminated all other beverages besides green tea. I also added a serving of Way Better Snacks to my diet as they are filled with whole grains and are great for digestion. I recently shared with you several health benefits of eating Way Better Snacks.
I decided to make some simple changes to Live Better – I started exercising 3-5 times a week and going to bed no later than 10 pm EST! This was a MAJOR change for me. I had fallen off of the wagon working into late in the night during the summer and decided that those days were behind me. Now I go to bed at 9:00 pm and read until 10:00 every single night. It has made a HUGE impact in my life and well being.
As a result in making these changes I am down 15 lbs and feel better. I have so much energy! I am happy to say these changes have led me to Be Better!
