Homemade Shower-Bathtub Cleaner

Check out this Homemade Shower-Bathtub Cleaner.  I found this recipe mixture on Pinterest and thought I would give it a try. You only need 2 ingredients to make this – Dawn dish soap and vinegar. I have plenty of Dawn dish soap in my stockpile so I tried it. Be sure to Re-Pin this post.

To make this all you have to do is microwave 1/2 cup of vinegar for 90 seconds. Pour into spray bottle. Add 1/2 cup Dawn dish soap and mix together. Next you simple spray your entire tub and shower and let it sit for an hour. Then wipe with a damp cloth and rinse well. (I had to scrub some spots to get them completely clean)

The smell of the cleaner is not bad because the Dawn comes through more than the vinegar. In my opinion I would have rather just clean with vinegar. Next week I am going to try a cleaner using baking soda and vinegar. I will post on how that turns out for me.

  1. I have been using this for a long time and I have never microwaved the vinegar. Also, use essential oils to cut the smell of vinegar. Works amazingly well!

Thanks Gretchen! I love that it works and you don’t have to use the microwave. What oils do you like? I love using Lavender.

  2. Does this work well with hard water? Rust!!!
