MIXED Conference, Kellerman’s & Decorating Cakes with Duff Goldman

This past weekend I attended Mixed Conference – A Food Blogger’s Conference that was held at the beautiful Mountain Lake Hotel which is located on 2,600 acre Virginia mountaintop property. However the exciting part was that the hotel was the location for the movie “Dirty Dancing” starring Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey. YES, I am SERIOUS!  Nobody puts Baby in the corner!

If that wasn’t enough, I had the opportunity to not only meet but to decorate cakes with Duff Goldman who stars in his own show the Ace of Cakes and has a new product line available. He was so down to earth and it was an amazing experience to say the least. In addition to that I was there to learn tips on photography, food styling and more! I met some amazing bloggers like The Army Mom, Home Cooking Memories, and

Of course I was there representing Way Better Snacks which was lots of fun too!  Other great sponsors included Kitchen Aid and Dreamfield Pasta.  If you haven’t tried using a Kitchen Aid mixer you are REALLY missing out.  It is my favorite kitchen equipment hands down and there is no need for so many other appliances as a result of all of the attachments you can use with it.  I have the slicer/ice-cream freezer and grinder to mention a few!  Dreamfield Pasta is also amazing – low carb and perfect for anyone with Diabetes.  We have a Diabetes series coming in January – stay tuned to learn more about this great low carb (but not low in taste) pasta.

Mixed Conference was hosted by my very dear friend and hostess with the mostess Paula and the super organized Susan. I will have to say it did give me the itch to host another conference :-)  Only time will tell on that one.

Disclosure:  This is not a sponsored post and all opinions are 100% my own.
