Love to make this Blessing Jar and give it as a Christmas present. Such an affordable and heartfelt gift!

I love to make this Blessing Jar and give it as a Christmas present.  Such an affordable and heartfelt gift!  A great way to start the new year is with a Blessings Jar.

I was first introduced to this idea while I waiting for Peyton to come home from Guatemala. A friend gave me a Blessings Jar to place my blessings in while I waited for him. It was truly one of the things that got me through his process. I still have all of my blessings that I saved for him to read one day.

How to create a Blessings Jar:

Find a jar or other suitable container preferably with a lid (a mason jar works great).

Starting today write your “blessings” on small slips of paper and add them to a jar as they happen. On December 31st open the jar and read all of your blessings. It is a great way to remember to be thankful and at the end of the year remember the little things that made you smile as you wrap up the current year.

You could create one for each member of your family or you can do a larger family size jar and ask each member to use an assigned color of paper or write their name on the slips.

Hope you enjoy this idea!  It would be a great wedding present too!

I think this is a great idea! I was thinking of doing something similar to record the “big” events that occurred during the year, with a growing family we seem to have a lot. I was going to use a designated notebook so that I can write a quick blurb each day.

My only suggestion to this would be to date your notes so you can remember when you were feeling which blessing.
