I found this Dr. Oz Teeth Whitener recipe and decided to give it a try. It said to take 1/4 cup of baking soda and mix it with the juice of 1/2 lemon and then apply it to your teeth with a q-tip. Leave on your teeth for 1 minute then brush. This amount was more than enough for both my husband and I to use. In the future I would actually reduce it to 2 TBSP baking soda with enough juice to make it a consistency to apply.
You will keep the whitener on your teeth for 1 full minute and then brush. I did notice an immediate difference. If you are a coffee or tea drinker it will take several applications before you notice a difference. You shouldn’t do this method too often as it may irritate your gums and remove the enamel on your teeth because of the acid in the lemon. If it does irritate then you should try 1 day on and 1 day off or even every 3 days. I love that this is a non-toxic teeth whitener. Using 1 time a month to maintain is a good idea.
