Can you freeze summer squash? Yes, you can!  It is a water based plant so when it is frozen and then thawed it become “mushy” and looses its original form.  By using the below method it is the best way to freeze squash.

How To Freeze Summer Squash

Wash and cut into 1/2″ slices and boil for 3 minutes, timing from when vegetables enter the water.

Plunge into an ice bath, drain, and freeze in a heavy duty plastic freezer bag or foodsaver bags. It is perfect for soups and stews.  I even like to grill  or steam it.
