Have you heard of the new show called Fat Chef on The Food Network?

When I visited Smuckers we had the pleasure of eating at Fahrenheit in Cleveland, OH. Chef Rocco Whalen not only prepared for us an amazing dinner he also spoke to us and shared his culinary story. At the time he hinted that he had something big in the works and I am excited to share with you that he is starring on Fat Chef.  Fat Chef airs on Thursday nights at 10 pm EST on the Food Network.

He shared with me that along the way he learned many things about himself and about his body. He has changed the direction of his life in a small window of 16 weeks.  He is proud of his accomplishments.   During the 14 week production, he managed to lose 85 pounds for the Network, but more for himself than them.  His total weight loss to date is 125 pounds, and he says he is not done yet.

I have never been more excited! My favorite fast food chain Chick-fil-A has announced that they are going to be offering a new Kid’s Meal that is better for our kids! Shelley and I are always looking for healthy options for our kids and Chick-fil-A has always been top on our list of choices.

It comes with the introduction of Grilled Nuggets!!! I truly hope this is something we will see available on the adult menu too! This is a huge revelation for all of us who are Gluten Free!

It comes with a choice of either a 4-count nuggets (80 calories, 1g fat ); 6-count nuggets (110 calories, 1.5g fat) and 100 percent all-breast meat chicken (not pre-formed meat)

Also with the addition of all natural Buddy Fruits® Pure Blended Fruit To Go applesauce (seriously my personal favorite snack and I know it was designed for kids but it is that good and so convenient. It is 60 calories, 0 grams of fat and equals one serving of fruit. Gluten free and contains 100 percent pure fruit.

Also with an improved beverage options. The chain is changing its children’s beverage line to only feature one percent milk, 100 percent apple juice, its signature freshly squeezed lemonade, and water as drink choices.

The Grilled Nuggets (4-count), Fruit Cup and one-percent milk Kid’s Meal option contains only 210 calories and 3 grams of fat – reflecting an 86 percent cut in fat grams and a 56 percent calorie reduction compared to its previous offerings!

Additional offerings for gluten intolerant kids includes the Grilled Nuggets – a gluten-free entrée option and the Fruit Cup and Buddy Fruits® applesauce – two gluten-free side item options!

As you know I am a raving fan but since I was diagnosed as a Celiac I have not eaten at Chick-fil-A (sad I know) so I am really excited about this new announcement!
