FAQ

Q.  I don’t have time to stockpile, how do you find the time?

A.  When you begin to stockpile you are going to feel like you have a new part time job and and honestly you will continue to feel that way for 3 months.  After you build your stockpile you will  just be maintaining it.  There are times where we go two-three weeks without shopping except for perishables!   However, after you have built your stockpile and start saving hundreds of dollars a month you see the reward for your time and you will spend no more than an average amount of time shopping after the initial stockpile is built.

Q.  How do you have time to organize your binder?

A. We are very busy and though we don’t have a traditional 9-5 job we are constantly busy with our boys, husbands, our blog and couponing.  Often we clip our coupons in the evening while we are watching TV with our hubby’s.  We keep a routine of clipping every Sunday night and filing every Monday morning.  You need to keep a system that works for you but we suggest keeping up with clipping and organizing because you won’t be able to save if you can’t find your coupons.

Q.  Where do you store your stockpile?

A. We store our stockpiles in our basements.  However if you don’t have space in your basement you could re-purpose a linen closet, store under a bed or purchase a storage closet and place that in a room of your house.  We don’t recommend storing your stockpile in a garage or other area of your house that doesn’t have a heating/cooling source (for example a garage).

Q.  When I started stockpiling I noticed I was spending more than before I started, is this normal?

A.  Yes, it is normal to spend more the first month you begin stockpiling.  You will notice that your spending will be less each month and after 3 months is when you are going to start seeing your BIG savings.

Q. Where do you get the coupons?

A.  There are many sources for obtaining coupons.  We purchase multiple Sunday papers – if you are local check out how get the Sunday paper for FREE, purchase from Coupon Clippers, print them from the Internet, download them digitally and collect them at the store!

I am very new to couponing. I have two small children so I don’t always have the most time to coupon. Could you please give any or all advie possible. I have no clue where to start, and I just get so frazzled trying to search for the best deals. Any help would be greatly appreciated. For example where to start. I am already collecting a few newspapers a week, now what?? I get so lost. In great need of advice.
