Here are 20 After School Snack Ideas to help you feed the kids when they walk in the door!  Now that school is in full swing the first thing my son says when he gets into the van after school is "I am hungry". He eats lunch at 11:00 am and doesn't get home until 3:30! That is a long afternoon for him.

I try to have his snack in the van so he can begin to eat on his way home. My goal is to provide something that won't spoil his dinner but that will give him the energy that he needs to get through homework.

My kids like wraps(we use whole wheat, but whatever u like) with cheese sticks/ lunch mt/ jelly and/or cream cheese/ pb/inside. Once in a blue moon, I'll go ahead and give them dessert as their snack. That way, if it's ice cream or something sweet it won't wind them up before bed.

Melissa, I do the ants on a log also but the one thing I do different is I take an animal cracker and stick it standing up on the "log" or on the side of the log..it looks cute and it add's a little more to the treat
Some other treats I do for my daughter after school are:

Take fresh sliced fruit and put it inside a waffle cone with some yogurt
      Jello Jigglers in shapes
Pigs in a blanket- mini hot dogs rolled in croissants
