5 Back to School Tips to Make the First Day A Success

Here are 5 Back to School Tips to Make the First Day A Success. How can it be time for back to school? We just got out of school for summer vacation! It has been a fun summer, but the weather hasn't really cooperated like I would have liked it too.

It has been overcast and rainy for most of July which has been tough for going poolside. We have made the best of it though with more trips to King's Island than normal which has been fun.

5 Back to School Tips to Make the First Day A Success

As you know I used to teach high school. In fact, this is a picture from my teaching days. I always lived for my summers and now that I have a son, he lives for his summers too. I wanted to share with you a funny story about one of my back-to-school mishaps.

During my third year of teaching, I planned out my back-to-school outfit (sound familiar) and arrived to school looking "great" in a new outfit. As I was walking down the hall I noticed brown shoe, blue shoe, brown shoe, blue shoe...what the heck??? Yep, I had on two different shoes - not the same style either! What a great way to start off my school year with my "new students". As they say, first impressions matter...well I am sure I left a last one on my students that year.

After that day I made the decision that I would no longer dress in the dark of my closet, nor would I not lay out my entire outfit (including shoes) before I went to bed.

Here are several tips to help you and your kids avoid such a mishap in their future for the first day of school.

5 Back to School Tips to Make the First Day A Success:

    1. Lay out clothes, shoes, socks and under ware before going to bed.

    2. Take a shower the night before (if possible) to save time in the morning.

    3. Pack lunches the night before.

    4. Load backpacks the night before.

    5. Label coats, lunch box and backpacks so there is no chance of a mix up at school.

Right now, you can save $5 off when you spend over $40 plus FREE shipping on all labels. Enter promotional code "SCHOOL" in the checkout. I personally loved when my students labeled their items when I taught middle school. That never really happened in high school through 😉

Put a label on it! Kick off the school year right and prevent unnecessary mishaps. Reply below for $5 off your Bright Star Kids order.
