Which if you know me you know I love my slow cooker recipes that you only need 10 or less ingredients. This was such an easy dinner to prepare. It took me less than five minutes to mix everything together, rub it on the chicken and place it in the crockpot.
I also like that this particular crockpot recipe cooks for 9-10 hours. Making it a great recipe for those of you who work outside the home or have a busy weekend full of games and activities. Last weekend we had a busy day full of football games and Homecoming Dance activities for my oldest son, so I cooked Crockpot Ranch Onion Whole Chicken Recipe and it was the perfect dinner to have on such a busy day.
My family wants me to make this again very soon and when I do, I am going to make two of the chickens so I can shred the meat from the second one and freeze it. Crockpot Ranch Onion Whole Chicken Recipe is so delicious and you only need 6 ingredients and 9 hours in the slow cooker!
- Whole Chicken 4-5 lbs
- 1 packet Onion Soup Mix
- 1 packet of Ranch Mix
- 1 Tsp. Paprika
- 1 ½ tsp minced garlic
- 1 Tbsp butter
- Add all the dry ingredients to a small bowl and mix together for rub.
- Rinse chicken and pat dry with paper towels.
- Generously add rub to inside and outside of chicken.
- Place minced garlic and butter inside of chicken.
- Carefully place chicken into 6 quart Crockpot and cook on low for 8 - 9 hours, or until done.
- Remove from crockpot and place on a platter.
- Carve and serve.
Easy Freeze Slow Cooker Directions:
Simply dump all your ingredients into a freezer bag. Freeze. When ready to cook thaw in the refrigerator overnight. Dump ingredients into the slow cooker and cook on low for 8-9 hours.
