I love making these gluten free cinnamon tortilla chips fresh and pairing them with Gluten Free Strawberry Mango Salsa. It is an easy appetizer.

    Gluten Free Cinnamon Tortilla Chips

I think they are perfect for a get together or afternoon snack. You can add more cinnamon for more flavor if you desire 🙂  They are naturally gluten free when you use gluten free corn tortillas and delicious!

    Gluten Free Strawberry Mango Salsa

Simply heat oil in skillet, medium-high heat. Cut your tortillas into triangles. Then place cinnamon and sugar in a bag and shake until blended. Place your tortillas in oil carefully so they are not touching. You want to do just a few at a time. Fry for 1-2 minutes and then flip over. Fry an additional 1-2 minutes and then place on a paper towel to soak up any extra oil. Immediately toss the fried chip into the sugar mixture and shake until coated. You can also bake after they are covered in the sugar mixture at 325 degrees for 5 minutes for extra crispy chips!

Prior to making your chips prepare your Gluten Free Strawberry Mango Salsa. It is so fresh and light. It pairs nicely with fish too! The Cinnamon Tortilla Chips are so easy to make that your kids will love to get involved. They can shake the chips into the bag for you while you are tending to frying more chips. It is a great way to get your kids involved with cooking. Our local Taco Tico used to serve chips like this so it takes me back to the memories of my childhood. This is a true winner if you are looking for a way to make a naturally gluten free snack that the whole family will enjoy.

Do you fry the corn tortillas because they are made with corn? I haven't tried it with corn yet. I've made them with flour tortillas but baked them using a spray to get the cinnamon/sugar to stick. My son is gluten intolerant and I just picked up the corn tortillas to do this. He's also sensitive to oil or anything greasy because of acid reflux. Do you think it would still come out okay if I baked them? Thanks.
