This Homemade Hot Cocoa is so easy to make with only 2 Ingredients! This tasty beverage tastes delicious and is kid approved. You know it is good when the kids like it!
Here in Kentucky we have had some colder weather and my kids wanted some hot chocolate. I wanted to make some that was a bit healthier for them than the store bought packets. So I started heating up milk and added some mini chocolate chips to it. It was so good and my kids want me to make it this way from now on!
All you need is milk and chocolate chips to make this yummy Homemade Hot Cocoa. I used Almond Milk because my youngest son can not have regular milk due to allergies, but you can still use regular cows milk as well.
I poured the milk in a huge pot and slowly heated it up. I then stirred in about a ⅔ cup of chocolate chips. I kept stirring it continually so it would not burn. Once the chips had melted and thoroughly mixed with the milk I scooped out into mugs. It is so simple and only took about 5 - 10 minutes from start to finish.
Be sure to give this homemade recipe a try of if you find yourself out of store bought hot chocolate. It is a winner for sure! A tip is that you can transfer it into a crockpot to keep it hot after it is ready to serve.
