We are back from our trip to Milwaulkee, WI where we were invited to attend the “Kitchen-to-Kitchen” Blogger Event with Johnsonville. It was a fabulous trip from start to finish! We were picked up at my house by a car service (Town Car) and taken to the airport. From the airport we were greeted by another car service and taken to the Iron Horse Hotel. The hotel was rugged but elegant! It is within minutes of the Harley-Davidson museum. It has an edgy, industrial design that we loved! The staff was amazing, the food was awesome and we enjoyed being treated like “rock stars”.
After an awesome lunch of beer cheese soup and a po-boy served on pretzel bread we were taken to the WELL Spa at the Pfister. We enjoyed a private sitting room and relaxation massage! Next we were taken back to the Iron Horse to rest for a couple of hours. We even had presents awaiting us. That evening we attended a reception in the hotel lobby hosted by Johnsonville, followed by dinner at The Harbor House restaurant, which is the new HOT spot in Milwaulkee. We enjoyed a four-course gourmet meal.
Our menu included:
- Crustacean Bisque garnished with Parsley
- Spinach Salad with Radicchio Figs, Maytag Blue Cheese, Crispy Prosciutto, Candied Walnuts and a Sherry Vinaigrette
- Filet with Scallops with Wilted Spinach, Potato Puree and Black Truffle Sauce
- Warm Chocolate Cake with Hazelnut Ice Cream, Candied Hazelnuts and Creme Anglaise
The next morning we were taken to the Kitchen-to-Kitchen Blogger Event at the Milwaulkee Public Market. We heard a presentation by Johnsonville, Harry Balzer of the NPD Group and Melissa d’Arabian host of Food Network’s “Ten Dollar Dinners”. We were able to cook with the brand new Johnsonville Chicken Sausage (which has 50% less fat than the regular Johnsonville Sausage) and enjoyed a fabulous lunch together that we all prepared. The new flavors of Chicken Sausage were amazing! They will be available soon!
The other bloggers invited include:
- Robyn’s Online World
- Real Mom Kitchen
- The Wicked Noodle
- Mommy Goggles
- Mom Start
- Mom Central
After lunch it was time to say goodbye and we departed for the airport. Our flight ended up being delayed for 3 hours but luckily we made it home around 10:30 pm and much to our excitement our town car waiting for us and brought us home. We would personally like to Thank Johnsonville Sausage for this awesome opportunity. It was perfectly planned and we so thoroughly enjoyed every single minute of it.
Johnsonville Sausage paid all expenses for our trip however this post is our honest opinion.
