What Are Lucky Foods for the New Year?

Happy New Year!  How do you celebrate?  Here are a few food idea's that are said to bring luck for the New Year.  I personally bought Lentils for us to enjoy.

What Are Lucky Foods for the New Year?

Black Eyed Pea's and Lentils: Folklore of Italy, Brazil and Japan recommends eating lentils on New Year's Day to bring forth fortune and success.

Pork: Some traditions suggest serving suckling pig or roasted pork sausages because pigs are believed to represent progress and forward motion.

Cakes: Ring-shaped cakes are common desserts for New Year's Day. Many countries in Europe ring in the year by enjoying doughnuts.

Here are some New Year's recipes you may enjoy:

Pork Chop and Apples with Stuffing

    Roast Pork Tenderloin

Tortellini Bean Soup Mix - Lentils

Bean Salsa - Black Eyed Peas

    Slow Cooker Black Eyed Peas

    Berry Burst Cake

    Pumpkin Bundt Cake

    Two Step Pound Cake

Now for the big question?  To make a resolution or NOT? 🙂
