Lunchbox Tips - How to Keep Your Sandwich From Getting Soggy

Lunchbox Tips - How to Keep Your Sandwich from Getting Soggy. Here are some lunchbox tips for how to keep your brown bag lunch a portable feast. Including some tips for keeping sandwiches fresh and from getting soggy.

How to Keep Your Sandwich from Getting Soggy:

Avoid a soggy sandwich by lightly buttering the bread-which creates a moisture barrier-before piling on the "fixings". If you prefer mayonnaise, try spreading hummus or pesto between meat and cheese to boost flavor without a making things mushy.

Fresh lettuce, sprouts and peppers all add a satisfying crunch. Dry produce thoroughly after washing with paper towels. Pack tomato slices separately and add when you're ready to eat. Keep lettuce crisp by placing a folded paper towel in the sandwich baggie to wick away moisture.

This is a great tip to help you keep lunch time exciting and not disappointing.

I always make pbj's to avoid the soggy issue. I can't wait to try your tips, though. My favorite is sandwiches with lots of fixings and fresh veggies. Now I know I can prepare them for a sack lunch or picnic rather than just enjoy them at home.
