One of the biggest complaints we hear from people is how hard it is to have healthy food easily.  These Tips for Making Healthy Food Convenient will help you to stay on your road to success this year with the 52 Weeks to Wellness.  Whether you use a plan like Weight Watchers, or you are simply counting calories or even eating a low carbohydrate meal plan these tips will make the process easier for you to manage.

Prep fruits and vegetables in advance. Healthy snacks, breakfast dishes and side dishes are much easier when you have items prepped in advance.  We love how freezer meals help make it easier and more convenient to have healthy meals for our families, but an extra step is to prep things like fruit chunks and raw vegetable pieces.  Slice up melons, peaches, pears, strawberries, blueberries and other fruits and portion into 1 cup baggies or storage containers.

Use menu plans.  Menu plans leave no guesswork at the end of the day.  You will know what you are having when, and easily be able to keep up with it.  We love taking advantage of our favorite freezer meals.  You can use lower fat options, or simply use our Weight Watchers recipes to create your own custom freezer meals.  This saves you tons of time.

Make simple meals.  Sometimes gourmet meals are simply too complicated to make conveniently.  Go simple with basic grilled, baked or broiled meats, steamed or roasted vegetables and things like sweet potatoes, brown rice or quinoa cooked in large batches for sides.  You can prepare these items in bulk and portion out for each day easily.

These simple tips for making healthy foods convenient will keep you on track no matter how busy your schedule is.  With back to school approaching in no time, it's important to plan ahead so you don't get off track!
