Mashed Sweet Potatoes

This side dish is naturally gluten free! Mashed Sweet Potatoes are AMAZING! My husband loves this side dish!

  • 5 or 6 large sweet potatoes peeled
  • 1 stick butter
  • ΒΌ cup brown sugar


  1. Peel potatoes and cut into quarters.
  2. Simmer in a large 3-4 quart pot of water and Bring to a boil.
  3. Cook for 20 minutes until potatoes are fork tender.
  4. Drain water and return sweet potatoes to pan over still-warm burner (leave burner off or on very low heat).
  5. Add butter to bottom of pan and stir until melted.
  6. Using an electric mixer, mash the sweet potatoes with the butter, adding salt and pepper, to taste if desired.
  7. Add brown sugar to sweeten, stirring thoroughly.
