Make Ahead Smoothie

Make-Ahead Smoothie is a great idea for those early mornings!  If you are short on time you can mix it the night before and put it in a travel mug then grab it on your way out of the door in the morning.  The blueberries are an antioxidant packed and the oats will provide your fiber! This will provided you energy that will last!

I love to freeze ingredients for my smoothies!  It saves me time and money!

Comments

  1. I would recommend putting a scoop of flaxseed in as well.

  2. I can’t have berries of any kind due to the high oxalate content. I make huge kidney stones. Would bananas work just as well?

  3. Kim Benefield says:

    This sounds really good

  4. For PB/Banana fans:
Half of a frozen banana (take out of skin and put in ziploc in freezer the night before)
    1/2 cup skim/fat-free milk
    1/2 cup non-fat plain yogurt
    Splash of vanilla
    1 Tbs peanut butter

Blend well – it comes out the consistency of a thick vanilla milkshake because of the frozen banana.

  5. I blend the fruit and yogurt in muffin cup and put into my frezer. The kids can eat the the base as “ice cream” or blend with milk for a smoothie. I want to try senting the base as their yogurt for school lunch one day. I’m just not sure how it will melt.

  6. The pb/banana smoothie sounds delicious! We also like to make strawberry/banana smoothies with strawberry yogurt, strawberries, and a banana.
