Homemade Crockpot Caramel Dip (Dulce de Leche)

I found this recipe for Homemade Crockpot Caramel Dip or Dulce de Leche and couldn’t resist. It is AMAZING! One tip – be sure to cover your can well with water and turn on and walk away for four hours. You must allow your can to cool completely before opening or you will have a HUGE mess (ask me how I know :-)

Be sure to PIN this recipe! It is one you will make over and over! It is so easy!

  1. this idea will be great to share with me preschool parents….great way to have the kidos eat more fruit

  2. How does it turn into carmel flavor, maybe im stupid, but i dont get it.im going to google now

  3. Do you remove the can from the hot water to cool?
    – or -
Do you leave it in the hot water for both to cool
(a longer, gradual cool down with a longer cook time)?

  4. Any Idea how long you can leave this in the unopened can after you make it? For instance, if I make 2 cans at once and just put the second in the fridge for later use. Or, do you think it would do better to open the can and put it in a Tupperware container to store it? How long will it last in the fridge???

Karen, would open the can and then place in the fridge. I kept mine for 14 days before it was all gone :-)
