50th Birthday Survival Kit Gift Idea

When my sweet sister friend Teresa turned 50 I decided to put together a 50th Birthday Survival Kit care package for her and mail it to her to open on her birthday. I wanted her to know how special she is to me and to give her a little fun mail at the same time. Because this was mailed through the USPS I had to be sure not to include liquids. Feel free to adapt this gift idea if you are going to see the birthday boy or girl in person.

I hope you enjoy this 50th Birthday Survival Kit Gift Idea. My friend Teresa really enjoyed it and it was a way for me to be apart of her special day even though I live far from her. You don't have to spend a fortune to let your friends know you are thinking of them on special birthday celebrations!

50th Birthday Survival Kit is the perfect way to celebrate a friend who lives far away on her special day!

In the gift I included the following items:

Balloons: To start your day off with a bang!

Confetti: It is time to celebrate.

Candles: Blow them out and make a wish

Straw: Have a drink and celebrate

Starburst: To give you an extra burst of energy

Penny: For your retirement fund 🙂

Scentsy Circle: Because you are "scentational"

Note Pad: When your memory fails, to take notes

Colored Pencils: To color your future bright

Bookmark: No matter how far apart we are always close at heart

Gold: Chocolates - Because you are worth your weight in gold and every girl needs some chocolate on her birthday.

I hope this gift idea helps you if you are looking for a way to shower a family or friend with love of their 50th birthday. The true gesture here is not the gift but the thought. When my friend Teresa moved 10 hours away it could have been the end to our friendship however what we learned it is really just solidified how strong our bond is. Now we have to take the time to remain in each others lives and that takes a bit of planning. It is totally worth it though!

You can pick up many of these items at your local dollar store or big box store. I didn't spend a fortune but let my friend know how much she means to me on her "golden birthday". Hopefully this will help you with gift giving too! It is truly the thought that matters most.
