My favorite Christmas Decoration. My Grandpa made it before his passing and I have to say it is one of my most treasured keepsakes.

This Bleach Bottle Santa Door Decoration is my favorite Christmas Decoration.  My Grandpa made it before his passing and I have to say it is one of my most treasured keepsakes.  I shed a few tears each year when I hang it but they are tears of joy.  I keep in my kitchen for the season and it gives me the peace that my Grandpa is with us for the holiday's.  Every day of December I smile when I look at it.

I wanted to share it with you because it is such a frugal Christmas decoration but honestly he didn't "teach" me how to make it.  He made hundred's of them and sold them at craft events.  It is made of an empty bleach bottle, yarn, and felt.

    Bleach Bottle Santa Door Decoration:

I did find a complete step by step direction on how to make it though at Thrifty Fun and wanted to share that with you.

I hope you find it as festive and fun as I do.  Thanks to my Grandpa for creating it and for being the best Grandpa in the world.

My grandma had one of these and I loved it. I came across one a couple of years ago at a yard sale and had to pick it up. It may not be the one she had, but it reminds me of her whenever I see it!

I have made these for quite a few years. They are really easy to make. I had trouble finding the red material that I always used for the hat last year, so I bought a Santa hat from the dollar store, cut off the white part of the hat & used the red part for mine.

i have made these for many years. I used to have a booklet that had a bunny head, Mrs Santa, & a snowman, but have lost it & can't remember what the name of the booklet was. if anyone would know the name of it, please post it here. Thanks

I just love the santa and wanted to make it for my 3 yr. old granddaughter, but I can't figure out how to make the beard and hair. I know it's with the yarn, but I can't figure out how to place it or how the yarn is measured. Even how many rows for his beard. Are they layered on top of each other and hot glued? Just not sure on how to make it. Thank you for your time and they are lovely .
