While we were in Orlando on fall break we had the opportunity to see the Blue Man Group. We really had no idea what to expect from the “Blue Man Group” show but we accepted the tickets and thought what an awesome experience for our boys. When we got to the theater it was a lot smaller than I thought. If you are worried about where you are sitting don’t because there is not a bad seat in the house.
The Blue Man Group Theater is located in Universal CityWalk® between the Hard Rock Cafe® and the main entrance to Universal Studios Florida®. It is located close to lots of shopping and dining. Best of all you don’t need a theme park admission to purchase tickets to see this show. There is no dress code. However they do suggest that you avoid wearing anything that needs to be dry cleaned do to the possibility of substances from the stage reaching into the auditorium.
There were several different options on ticket prices including the front sections seats (which came with a poncho!) I think you can get the full affect no matter where you sit. The thought of a “Blue Man” was interesting to me and a bit creepy at the same time. When they move through the crowd staring I didn’t know whether to hide my eyes or laugh out loud! These men are talented for sure. They can make anything funny from spitting paint to playing music on PVC pipe! This show was a true mix of talent! It was the perfect combination of humor, art, music, and just plain fun! We were literally laughing out loud and boys found it quite entertaining.
If you have kids they will get in to this show. It was non stop fun and was extremely interactive. I don’t want to give the whole show away but I can say it will please anyone with a sense of humor! There was a wide mix of attendees at the show from those celebrating birthdays, on a date night to those with families. The Blue Man Group show really appeals to all ages. Kids will enjoy the lights, color and music. Adults will enjoy the humor, social commentary and pure entertainment that the Blue Man Group provides. While the show appeals to a wide audience, it may not be appropriate for all children under 3 years old.
If you ever get the opportunity to see the Blue Man Group I would highly recommend it. I will add that the show is 1 hour and 45 minutes long with no intermission. That did concern us with the kids but they had no issue with the length of the show and we were literally on the edges of our seats the entire time. We give the show two thumbs up and would suggest it to others. If you have a sense of humor, like music and art this is the show for you.
On a side note we want to mention that strobe lights are used during portions of the show. People sensitive to strobe lights should know this when deciding whether or not to attend the show. (Strobe lights may cause seizures to people with epilepsy).
Disclosure: We were provided tickets for our review however all opinions are 100% our own.
