Can you use tinned peaches if don't have access to fresh?

You can but they will break down easier than fresh.

I have substituted round steak for this recipe since I had extra round steak available.
      Opinions or experience?

That should be no problem. Let us know how it tastes with beef.

My family LOVES this recipe, and some of them can be very picky eaters! The flavor was great. I made a sauce for it from ginger peach tea, grated ginger, honey & a tiny bit of lemon. - just reduced down to thicken it a little. Served it over rice with edamame. Mmmmmm!!!! Definitely saving this one! Thank you so much for these; they are huge time savers for busy families!

This recipe has the honour of being the very first I have ever made in a crockpot. I followed the instructions exactly, but I substituted mangos for the peaches since I live in Mexico and mangos are much easier to find and cheaper than are peaches.

Like with most of your other recipes, I found that eight hours of cooking time was way too long -- I cooked this about four hours only. The pork was wonderful, but everything else had broken down into mush. I would definitely make this again, but with more ginger and by adding the onions and mangos a few hours after the meat.

I usually hate eating the same thing many times in a row and I still got through all of this over the course of a week without being sick of it!

I found this recipe a little weird. The marinade had a good flavour but the combined texture of the onion, the peaches, and the chicken really threw me off. it wasn't awful but was not a personal favorite.

This was very tasty. I made it with some freezer burned chicken breasts and sliced peaches we had inherited.
I do agree with Rae that the cooking time is too long. You'd have no idea there were onions and peaches in here... just chicken in mushy brown sauce. Tasted great but I would have liked some texture.
It also cooked down to no liquid really so after we ate it on rice a bit dry the first time, I added some water and stirred it up to make it more saucy.

We ate it another day as shredded open face sandwiches. Mmm.

I did the recipe as it said to do but it didn't turn out as I wanted it to. it turned out burnt, dry. But there was a lot of flavor to it. I am going to retry it and see how it turns out. hopefully, it turns out differently this time.

Hello, I cannot find any frozen peaches, could I use canned peach slices, and just put them in a freezer? =)
