Crockpot Sausage with Peppers & Onions is a freezer meal recipe that will be added to my monthly menu plan asap! This is another meal that I made while doing my 10 slow cooker freezer meal recipes. I recently spent an afternoon making 10 Crockpot Freezer Meals and during that time I made this recipe and a previous featured recipe -- Crockpot Cheeseburger Soup which was a family hit!
You can make this recipe as is and cook right away or make as a freezer meal for future use. To make as a freezer meal be sure to write these directions on the bag - Thaw in fridge 24 hours. Cook on low 6 hours or on high for 4 hours. Serve with warm hot dog buns or a salad.
If you are not going to prepare this as a freezer meal you can grill your brats but don't cook them all the way, just enough to brown (sear) the outsides and add grill markings. Using a fork prick several holes in the seared brats and follow the recipe but reduce your cooking time to 4 hours. This is a naturally gluten free recipe.

Crockpot Sausage with Peppers & Onions
- 1 lb Johnsonville Italian Sausage Brats
- 1 whole large green pepper sliced
- 1 whole medium onion sliced
- 2 cups diced tomatoes
- 2 teaspoon onion powder
- 2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Place all ingredients in freezer bag, mix well and freeze until ready to use.
- When ready to cook, thaw overnight in fridge.
- Place all ingredients in slow cooker and cook on low 6 hours.
- Serve on warm hot dog buns or with a salad.
