I wanted to share my Disney Animal Kingdom Lodge Resort Review with you. We are home from an amazing vacation to Walt Disney World.  We stayed on property and bought the dining plan. It was the trip of a lifetime!

Disney Animal Kingdom Lodge Resort Review

In my opinion that is the way to visit Disney World.  My son is five years old and LOVES animals.  It was a no brainer to me to book the Animal Kingdom Lodge.  We booked a Savannah room and it was the best decision of our trip.  The first picture was taken when we walked into the room.  There is no better way to be greeted in my opinion than with a Mickey ears made from a bathroom towel.

    Disney Animal Kingdom Resort Review:

The Animal Kingdom Lodge was fabulous!  If you have ever wanted to go to Africa then staying here is your 2nd best bet.  We had the most amazing view from our room!  The photo of the giraffe is from our balcony!  I don't think our TV was on once during our stay.   Every free second we had was spent on our balcony watching the animals.  It was simply amazing.  We stayed on the Arusha Savannah.  I would highly suggest it!

Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge is an African lodge-style resort on a 43-acre wildlife preserve. The Resort offers authentic African-inspired architecture and the kraal African-village landscape design—a semi-circle design popular in Africa which offers expansive views of the surrounding savanna and its many animal inhabitants. Thatched ceilings, large beams, hand-carved golden-tone furnishings, real African artifacts and a vast mud fireplace in the main lobby surround you in the inimitable spirit of Africa.

In addition to the Uzima pool and slide, there's a wading pool for little ones.  I couldn't keep my son out of the pool. It is like an enormous watering hole!  There are also unique animal-themed activities for everyone in your family including an awesome musical parade with instruments!

My only complaint would be that you need to allow a full hour for all bus rides (except for to Animal Kingdom).  We spent at least 1 full hour on all forms of transportation other than our days at Animal Kingdom.  However, the wait time was worth our experience and my son LOVED this resort!

I hope you enjoy my Disney Animal Kingdom Lodge Resort Review. It was a fantastic property!

Disclosure:  This trip was not paid for by Stockpiling Moms - this was paid for by my family.  This post contains 100% my own opinions.
