How to make an ice pack out of water and rubbing alcohol - a great money saver!

I wanted to share with you how to make an ice pack out of water and rubbing alcohol.  I am always looking for a great way to make my own ice packs. My son likes creativity over frozen peas 🙂 My friend Robin told me about this nifty way how to make an ice pack out of water and rubbing alcohol. You take a latex or non-latex glove and fill it with ½ water and ½ rubbing alcohol then tie the glove off and place in your freezer.

The water will freeze but not rock hard/solid. You will get a "slushy" hand that is perfect for "boo-boo's". We tried it and it works like a charm. Now we have a "frozen hand" in our freezer at any given time and when we are in need of an ice pack, we are set!  I always take an ice pack to soccer.  The kids are going to think this frozen hand is really cool.  I may try adding a couple drops of food coloring inside just for fun.

This will come in handy for injuries and one day when he has his wisdom teeth removed.

I am a big fan of using gloves - check out this kitchen tip on using gloves when making meatloaf - it keeps clean up easy!
