Have you heard of Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party at Walt Disney World??? I had heard of it and always wanted to attend, but it never worked out until last week. My family and I headed to the magical castle and were able to trick and treat in Magic Kingdom. It was so much fun and I can not wait to tell you all about it and I hope someday everyone has an opportunity to make it there for this special event!
Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party:
Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party is something extra you have to pay for. It is not included with your Magic Your Way package or the purchase of a park ticket. However when you buy the event ticket, you get park admittance into Magic Kingdom at four o'clock in the afternoon and can stay until midnight. Other guests that are in the park on the day of the party, but did not purchase a party ticket, will have to leave the park by 7 pm. It is a great way to enjoy the park with less crowds and enjoy more rides and all the special things they have going on. Such as trick or treating. magical shows, special parades and fireworks to name a few.
Now I will be honest and say that the tickets a little on the high side, so be sure that this is something you and your family wants to do, as the tickets are non-refundable. Even if you decide to reschedule your trip, they will not re-issue new tickets for you. If you are interested in attending, you also want to purchase them soon, because they will sell out and you may miss your opportunity.
The tickets prices range based on the dates you select. The closer to Halloween in October costs more than getting a ticket the first week of September. So keep that in mind when you are planning your trip. I was able to snag a low price ticket by going to the Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party on September 17. (It was also my hubby's birthday that day!)
One of the best perks on the Halloween party is the amount of candy you can get by trick or treating! My son Luke got so much candy he filled a good portion of the bed in the resort room. You are allowed to keep going through the same lines to get more candy and adults are allowed to trick or treat too! Plus adults can dress up as well. Be sure to check the rules on guidelines on this as they change each year on the Walt Disney World app or online.
You are also able to meet special characters during the party that are never out for normal meet and greets. Some of the popular ones were Jack and Sally, The Seven Dwarfs and Lotso Bear. The lines for these do get pretty long, but worth the wait. What I loved was the magic shots (photos) we could get, only at the party. One was with the Headless Horseman and I loved it! We also got to see him before the parade and the boys were so excited. Be sure to check out all the entertainment they have to offer during the party. From shows, special treats and the amazing Halloween Fireworks show. Be sure to check out Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party!
Disclosure: In my opinion I thought the party was worth the money and we utilized riding the rides and everything there was offered at the party. My family paid for this family vacation and I was not reimbursed in any form. All opinions are my own.
