We are home from an amazing vacation in Orlando, FL. We spent the week visiting the theme parks for Spring Break. This trip was for our teens but ended up being the trip of a lifetime for our family. We decided to visit both Disney World and Universal Studios during this trip. I am sharing Reasons to Rent a Vacation Home when you visit Orlando, FL.
My niece LOVES Harry Potter so visiting Universal Studios was on her travel bucket list. Our family loves Disney World and no trip to the Orlando area is complete without a visit to the theme parks. This year instead of staying on property and being crammed into a small hotel room we decided to look for a house where we could spread out and enjoy our vacation time.
When considering an alternative to staying on property at the theme park resorts, we didn’t want to lose resort amenities. When Encore Resort at Reunion reached out to us and invited us to come check out their property we quickly discovered this would be a great fit for our family.
In addition to staying in your own home your resort fee includes access to restaurants, aqua park, arcade, fitness center, hang ten kids club, sand volleyball courts, tennis courts, basketball courts, kids playground, kids splash pad, concierge desk, complimentary Wi-Fi, event planning, catering, convenience market, free transportation to theme parks (Disney World, Universal and Sea World), community shuttle transportation, parking at every home and bicycle rentals. WOW! That was a lot of awesome amenities.
Reasons to Rent a Vacation Home when you visit Orlando, FL:
Encore Resort at Reunion offers guests vacation homes ranging from three to 13 bedrooms, with all the privacy and comforts of home. We really appreciated that this gated community is in close proximity to Disney World and Disney Springs. We were less than 7 miles away from both! It made it quick and easy to access the parks. Universal was little further away at 16 miles but still extremely convenient.
Honestly there is no reason to make plans once you check in. There is so much to see an do on the 963-acre property. The resort has a spectacular clubhouse and fitness center, pools, kid’s center, access to the AquaPark with water slides, a Surfin’ Safari children’s splash area, cabanas, arcade, and even yoga classes.
Every single house has its own private pool and spa. That was a huge source of relaxation for us. Every single day after the parks we went for a swim and sat in the spa. Our feet, legs and backs thanked us. It was so nice to have that convenience in our back yard.
If you are choosing to go to the Amusement Parks like we did then you have two choices. You can take the complimentary shuttle that is included in the resort or drive yourself. We chose to drive ourselves however we saw others who took the resort shuttle. What is nice about that is that you avoid parking costs and you are dropped off at the park entrance versus walking so far from the parking. You simply sign up and follow their schedule.
If you drive the great think is how close the resort is to Disney! We were at Animal Kingdom in less than 10 minutes and to Magic Kingdom in less than 15! It is so conveniently located. Also, we were at Universal in about 20-25 minutes depending on the time of day.
On our last day we decided to have a pool day. We spent the entire day resting by our pool and had plans to go out to eat. When we realized that we didn’t want to get dressed and out of the pool to eat dinner we opted to order from the resort instead. They even had gluten free!
We found the prices to be reasonable and we didn’t have to wait long at all. We enjoyed a fun picnic on our back porch and continued swimming and enjoying the spa instead of going out to eat. The food was delicious too! Even a gluten free dessert! Now that is my kind of take out!
Our teens LOVED having complementary Wi-Fi and the game room. It was fun for them to have their own area to hang out in and they enjoyed the PS3 and their favorite part was the vintage arcade game (in fact that was a favorite for my husband too).
I loved the open concept and design of the home. It really was decorated with an updated style and we felt that the home had all the amenities that we needed (plus more). It exceeded all our expectations. Located close to Walmart and Publix I highly recommend that you schedule an online pick up or delivery for that day that you arrive.
One of my favorite features of the house was our laundry room with full size washer and dryer. We were able to pack light and then do laundry throughout the week. I decided on the last day to do all of the laundry and that turned out to be a wonderful idea. While we spent the day by the pool we would throw a load into the washer and dryer and all left with a suitcase full of CLEAN clothes.
This was a game changer for in terms of not feeling overwhelmed once we returned home. I ordered a Kroger Click List by the pool, to be picked up first thing on Monday morning and once we landed we were simply able to unload our suitcases and rest before starting our week Monday morning.
Encore Resort at Reunion is perfect for multi generational families, corporate groups, sports teams and other large groups. You could easily have two or more families share a home. Our home had two king size bedrooms so that could have worked easily.
All of the homes include fully equipped kitchens which made cooking a breeze. We ate all of our breakfasts and many other meals at the house which saved us money. All of the homes have washers/dryers, over-sized living/dining areas, multiple flat screen TV’s, complimentary WiFi, private pool at every home, key-less entry, ambassador in-home check-in, two car garages and the latest fiber optic technology. We were spoiled and didn’t want to leave! That is always a sign of a great location.
Some homes even include game rooms (ours did), theater rooms and a putt-putt area. Private chef experiences, on-site babysitting, grocery delivery, in-home spa services and a multitude of exclusive concierge services are also available. What we truly loved was the space that we had. Normally we are all crammed into a hotel room and having a house was a fantastic decision. We spent a lot of time together but had space to spread out.
