Perfect if you are eating low carb or following the Weight Watchers Diet.  This is one that the whole family will enjoy.

    Weight Watchers Bolognese Sauce

We recommend Dreamfield and CarbaNada pasta options that come in lower carbohydrate varieties. They are both quality and still lower points per serving. Otherwise, some zucchini or carrot zoodles are a delicious addition to give you that pasta texture without using up points or calories. Make your own with a Spiralizer or buy them already made at your local market. Trust us which ever you choose you are going to fall in love with this delicious sauce.

    Ingredients

    • 1 lb 99% fat-free ground turkey breast
    • 1 whole onion, diced fine
    • 3 stalks celery, diced fine
    • 3 whole carrots, diced fine
    • 4 cloves garlic, minced
    • 20 oz can diced tomatoes
    • 2 cups fat-free beef broth
    • ¼ teaspoon fennel seed
    • ⅛ teaspoon red pepper flakes
    • ½ teaspoon black pepper
    • ¼ cup fresh basil, chopped
    • ½ teaspoon salt (to taste)
    • Nonstick spray (as needed)

    Instructions

    • In a large nonstick skillet, over medium heat saute onions, celery, carrots, and garlic until vegetables are tender. Use nonstick cooking spray as needed to prevent burning/sticking.
Add ground turkey breast to the mixture and cook until no longer pink, mixing regularly.
Add in fennel, red pepper flakes, black pepper, diced tomatoes, and beef broth. Mix well and simmer over medium heat for 10 minutes.
Mix in fresh basil and salt to taste.
Continue cooking for additional 5-10 minutes or until flavors have melded together well.
      Serve over favorite pasta.

This recipe is delicious, but using the diced tomatoes, the sauce was a little thin and watery. I wonder if you could add or substitute some tomatoe sauce and keep it at 0 points?
