Pineapple Angle Food Cake is AMAZING! Only 4 WW points in this delicious low fat dessert.

Pineapple Angel Food Cake is the easiest cake to make and it is so tasty! It is also low fat and is only 4 Weight Watchers points! I found this recipe and thought I would try it out since Angel Food Cake is one of my favorite treats to have. All you need to make this is one 20 oz can of crushed pineapple and one box of angel food cake mix.

I didn't have a can of crushed pineapple in my stockpile but I did have a can of pineapple tidbits. So I put that in a bowl and used my immersion blender and crushed them up and they looked just the same 🙂 When you mix the pineapple and angel food mix it expands A LOT so make sure you use a very large bowl. Also you want to mix by hand until it is thoroughly mixed well.  I love it with Homemade Whipped Cream.

Pineapple Angle Food Cake is AMAZING! Only 4 WW points in this delicious low fat dessert.

You could also serve it with fat free cool whip for a low fat treat.  Another idea for portion control is to make into into 36 cupcakes.

I have made it twice and mine was perfect. Wonder if you got a bad mix or bad pineapple?

I made this cake for Easter dinner. Only difference is I used crushed pineapple instead of the tidbits. Turned out great and was a big hit! Will definately bake this one again!

I don't understand how this is Gluten Free. The Angel Food cake mix contains wheat flour.

What type of pan should be used? I used aluminum and 30 minutes wasn't long enough. Toothpick still came out wet even tho the top was starting to burn. Had it on center track.

        I've made numerous cakes. I've done 9 x13,
bundt and two layer. First time, I made it per recipe, then I decided to put Cool Whip for icing and then next time I sprinkled cool whip with so shredded coconut. All were great!!!!!

If you live in higher altitudes(3500 ft or above) add 1-2 tbs cornstarch to mix so it won't collapse.

Thanks for the tip. I just made it ... overflowed onto my nice clean oven. It was baked in a 9X13 glass pan. When turned upside down to cool, the middle of the cake fell out of the pan! No grease, 5000 ft altitude. Tastes good, looks horrible. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Made this cake ,also added 1 cup coconut and 15 chopped maraschino cherries. I did mix the pineapple, coconut & cherries in a separate bowl first. Then added it to the cake mix all one time. I used a tube pan and baked it 45 minutes, It turned out wonderful!

Nothing like waiting til the last minute, but I bought a caramel apple pie filling and angel food cake mix. If the finished product looks like it wants frosting, I bought a can of caramel apple frosting. Hopefully it is like dump cake, choose what kind of pie filling you want. I’ll take a picture!
