    Maker's Mark Distillery Tour

We just experienced the Maker's Mark Distillery Tour, and it was awesome! I highly encourage you to consider completing part if not all of the bourbon trail if you visit Kentucky.

I signed up as a Maker's Mark Ambassador in 2015. In fact, I waited seven years… for my bourbon barrel to mature and finally received my invitation for my golden ticket ambassador tour! It was AWESOME and I’m so glad I got to share the experience with my bourbon loving hubby!

If you haven’t been to Maker's Mark. Go.

We had a fantastic time and of course enjoyed the exclusive golden ticket ambassador tour experience. Regardless of if you are a Maker's Mark Ambassador or not consider a trip to Loretto, KY so that you can take a tour. Even if you don't drink bourbon, I think you would really enjoy the experience.

The grounds are beautiful, and you will be welcomed with loads of southern hospitality. Tours must be made online in advance and the cost is $20 per person. All guests must be 21 years of age or older to tour. (This includes toddlers & infants).

    The Makers Mark Tour

You will learn about Maker's Mark history and how they make bourbon. This tour is mostly outdoors (so dress weather appropriate) and consists of about ¼ mile of walking. This tour will take you through the Maker's Mark campus and a few of the production buildings. You will finish with a guided tasting. This tour will last approximately 1 hour.

There's nothing quite like touring this National Historic Landmark. Enjoy a Maker's Mark Distillery Tour and welcome to the KY life! It is 5:00 somewhere!

This was an amazing first trip to Maker's Mark and I would love to go back again soon! Of course, I will always be an ambassador so that is a reason to go back for sure!

    Best Kentucky Travel:

Visit Natural Bridge - I may never get to see the 7 wonders of the world, but I did get to see the wonder of Kentucky!  If you get the chance, you really need to Visit Natural Bridge located in Slade, Kentucky.  We are a hiking family and we had never been to this area.

Road Trip to Rabbit Hash - Step Back in a moment in time! The town is notable for its name, its string of canine mayors, and its historic general store which was largely destroyed by fire in 2016.

Flat Lick Falls - There is nothing more beautiful in Kentucky than Flat Lick Falls. We went to visit this waterfall and had a great time. It is a hidden gem in Jackson County, Kentucky.

The Kentucky Castle - The Kentucky Castle is a unique destination that EVERYONE needs to put on their travel bucket list right here in Central Kentucky. It is not every day that you get the opportunity to stay in a castle.

Cumberland Falls - Cumberland Falls and is known as the Niagara of the South. It is one of the most impressive waterfalls in the South and is definitely one to see.  It is located in Corbin, KY.

Red River Gorge Getaway - This is one of the best getaways in Kentucky!

Big Bone Lick State Park - Big Bone Lick State Park is in Union Kentucky and located close to nearby Cincinnati, Ohio for those wanting to check it out. It is a great road trip destination.

Day Trip to Irvine Ky - If you are looking for something fun to do consider a day trip to Irvine KY. We spent the day exploring a distillery in Ravenna which is a city located in Estill County. It is beautiful.

I don't drink, so could probably not do this for myself, but it seems like an extremely interesting tour. Even though I could not taste test, I would still love to see how everything is done!

My husband and I are not drinkers for personal reasons. But I know my friend's husband would enjoy visiting, and probably bringing his father-in-law. lol. Looks like a great place to visit.

That sounds like an interesting and different kind of tour. I've not been to see a distillery before.

I've never been on a distillery tour, and this sounds like an interesting experience. I am sure I would learn a lot about distilling since I am not familiar with the process.
