This quick recipe for Easy 3 Ingredient Banana Bread is delicious!  I could not believe how good it was with such simple ingredients. All you need is 3-4 ripe bananas, eggs, and a box of cake mix. Yes, you can make great tasting banana bread with a box of your favorite cake mix.

    Easy 3 Ingredient Banana Bread

    Banana Bread:

I had bananas that were getting over-ripe that I needed to use so I decided to try this easy recipe. I quickly mixed all the ingredients together to create this delicious treat.

Simply mash the bananas in a large bowl, then add the remaining ingredients and mix well. Spray 2 small loaf pans or 1 large loaf pan with non-stick cooking spray and divide the batter and pour into two loaf pans. You can even make muffins.

    Easy 3 Ingredient Banana Bread

Next, I topped one of the loaves with mini chocolate chips. I love chocolate chips on everything, well almost everything so I decided to add them to one loaf. Next, I put them in the oven and baked at for 35-40 minutes at 350 degrees.  You might need to bake a little longer if using 1 loaf pan.

    Easy 3 Ingredient Banana Bread

Best of all you can easily make this gluten free when you use a gluten free cake mix or you can use a sugar free cake mix!  Without the additional oil this is actually a lower fat version of traditional banana bread.  Some readers think it has a bit of cake texture, but my family thought it was great.

I like to keep yellow cake mix on hand and make this when I have surprise company visit.  It is also nice to be able to make when I have over ripened bananas on hand. Another great tip is to use a spice cake mix.  Our readers tell us that makes an amazing loaf of bread!

I do love this delicious warm banana bread right off the of the cooling rack.  If you have extra simply store in an airtight container.  It makes great housewarming gifts too! It is an easy recipe to use over-ripen bananas.

I just took two pans out of the oven. Just 2 eggs, cake mix and I used 4 bananas. It more of a cake then bread. I actually added some fresh blueberries to one of the loafs.

I'm about to make this with a chocolate box cake mix that I wanted to get rid of as I prefer fresh..also happened to have four overripe bananas that needed to get used today. So this is perfect. Only had four eggs in my fridge..so again Perfect! Will use my kitty cat faces ovenware muffin stoneware to bake mine and reduce the baking time as needed. Wish me luck! And thanks very much for an easy breezy recipe to try! 🙂

I made these as muffins and baked for 27 minutes in a 350 preheated oven. After lining the muffin tin with liners, I filled it about halfway with the batter, sprinkled a mixture of butter, cinnamon, sugar and flour that I mixed to the consistency of wet sand, then filled the muffin tin with the batter and sprinkled more of the butter cinnamon mixture on top. The muffins came our flavorful and moist with a nice, crunchy muffin top. Hubby loves them. Says I should go into the muffin business. Thanks for this easy recipe.

This is a very versatile recipe I feel. That's the type I like. I made it with peanut butter chips. Who doesn't like peanut butter and banana. It was Elvis Presley favorite! I also added the walnuts. I have to put nuts in most of my breads accept the lemon poppy seed. I baked it in a bundt cake pan for the time that was stated. I added a cream cheese glaze to the top of it and it is amazing.

I made mini muffins. I added walnuts that I cut really fine (kids claim they don't like nuts) so that they added a little protein. Baked them for 12-14 minutes and they were done. I got 48 mini muffins from the one batch! We love them!

Reduce baking powder: for each teaspoon, decrease 1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon.
Reduce sugar: for each cup, decrease 0 to 2 tablespoons.
Increase liquid: for each cup, add 2 to 4 tablespoons.
Increase oven temperature by 25 degrees F.

I used super moist butter pecan mix. Added an extra banana (4 total) an extra egg (3 total) and 8Tbsp of water. I hand mixed the batter. It is very important at high altitude to not over mix. And I baked for 45 mins at 375° in a bundt pan. It turned out amazing! Thank you for the recipe. I will never make banana bread any other way!

I was skeptical about this recipe, but had 4 over ripe bananas and the rest of the ingredients, short on time, so I decided to try it. It was awesome-moist and delicious-hubby is raving about it! I used French vanilla cake mix and added pecans. Will definitely do it again!

This is an amazing recipe! I've made it several times and it always comes out great. When I get too many overripe bananas I just stick them skin and all into a Ziploc bag then throw them in the freezer. Then thaw in the fridge. I cut the end off the banana and basically pour the contents into a bowl. My husband swears that this makes the banana bread more banana'y. Lol. Love your blog!

Hi, generally I’m not a baker so this recipe sounds great! I have an expired yellow cake mix or new chocolate cake mix in my cabinet Not sure if I can use the expired (2018) one? Also, when would I add strawberries? In the mix it self or afterwards, before baking, on top? Cut them up tiny not whole? I’m thinking of baking cupcakes so they’re easier to freeze. I’m not ever sure when the bananas are considered “ripe” enough to bake. Any advice?Thank you so much 😊

Do not use an expired cake mix. It is not like some other products that you can use past the expiration date. You can ripen your bananas by placing them in a brown paper bag 🙂 After you mix, gently stir in the fruit. Yes, cut them up.

I made it as the recipe said, I made it in a Bundt pan and added a handful of walnuts to the bottom of the pan so when flipped out they will be on the top. I also mixed in a handful of walnuts in the mix. The amount of mix almost filled the entire pan and I was scared it would overflow when baked. But thankfully it didn't. It rose beautifully. Will definitely make it again. Thanks for a great recipe.

Best banana bread I ever made! I had a Duncan Hines carrot cake mix in the cabinet and used it in this recipe. I used four bananas and added extra cinnamon and 1/4 a cup of brown sugar. I also added raisins since my husband loves them. It was honestly the best tasting and the moistest banana bread I’ve ever made. We love this recipe and my husband is already asking me to make it again. How can something this good be so easy!

Approximately how many cups of mashed bananas? Bananas come in different sizes.
